Practice Your X Second Story
Since the ancient times, storytelling has been used to pass stories from one generation to the next. Nowadays, storytelling has become a key element in building a business and our personal brand. Here at Whereisjupjup, we love telling a good story to better connect with our community, family and friends. Imagine stringing the right words together to describe an experience? Or, making the sentences intertwined to paint a vibrant picture for the person you’re communicating with. Doesn’t this get you excited? It sure does for us! And how do you become better at storytelling? Well, practice makes perfect. We learned this storytelling tip at Wattpad HQ during their 10th anniversary…

Chit chat at East Thirty-Six
“Luma!” “No, Cluny! Then we can head over to The Toronto Light Fest at the Distillery after dinner.” “Wait – 8 pm on a Sunday night? It’s way TOO late. We have work the next morning.” Messages whipped back and forth on WhatsApp as we tried to nail down a restaurant that none of us have ever tried before. Two thumbs up to our friend who initiated the idea. Planning an outing is never easy, let alone a Winterlicious dinner for a group of 10 people. After much debate, the group finally decided on East Thirty-Six at 36 Wellington Street East located at the heart of downtown Toronto. Look…

Let go of logic. Meet Derek, the founder of Twisted Inflations
What did you want to be when you grow up? Do you still remember? In our ever-changing economy, we begin to see more individuals taking up unconventional vocations that surprise and delight us. They stop you in your tracks, and you find yourself asking, “wow, THIS is what you do?” I think of individuals like Derek who is a world-class balloon artist. When I first learned about his work, I was intrigued to find out more. We were thrilled when Derek said “Yes!” without hesitation when we sent him an invitation for a featured interview. I’ve never met Derek in person. From our conversation on the phone, I can sense the genuine passion in…

3rd annual Etsy: Made In Canada
This was our first time visiting Etsy: Made in Canada event hosted on September 24 at MaRS Discovery District organized by the Toronto Etsy Street Team and the 416 Hustler Team. Overwhelmed by the crowd once we entered the building, we quickly found a corner to take a peak at the market place. Where shall we begin? There were over 100 local vendors, all Canadians! How naive to think that this would be the perfect activity to go on a double date while discovering unique gems at the event. There was no time for meaningful conversation. We all had to go explore! Here are some of our highlights. The Toronto…

Have you ever been stunned by someone’s creativity and passion the very first time you cross path? And you immediately tell yourself that when the time comes, I will definitely call on this person. Christmas cards in August
I was never a big fan of sending cards to family and friends. Especially now with our modern technology, human interaction and communication have become much more convenient. I would rather send an email, a Whatsapp message, or a text message. Wouldn’t that be much more instantaneous than waiting to give a card to my loved ones or sending a card in the mail? While I was shopping at Costco recently, I came across their Christmas cards on sale. For real, I thought? It’s only end of August! Instead of continuing to walk down the aisle, to my surprise, I found myself staring at the card collection. This overwhelming sense…

$2 Romantic Date
This candid picture was taken by a staff working at The Pride of Canada Carousel. Looking at how happy we were reminded me that a romantic date doesn’t need to be extravagant with candle light dinners. It is the moment that we share together that makes the experience worthwhile. We were on our way to another destination when we drove passed the carousel. I said, ‘Stop! What is this place? Let’s go check it out.” To our amazement, each ride only costs $2. A ticket is issued when you put the money into the machine. Then, you bring the ticket to the attendant. Depending on the time you arrive, it…

Review – I wish P Mate was at the safari
Breathe, a sigh of relief. Such a thing exists? Wow! That was my reaction when I learned about P-Mate, a lightweight, disposable, convenient device to help women relieve themselves while standing up. I still remember this scene in my mind. We were on an all day safari trip in Kenya. I tried not to drink too much liquid to prevent having to use the washroom. As you may know, toilet facilities are far away when you are on the reserve. As much as we tried not to drink too much liquid, the time came when we needed to find a washroom facility or a tall tree! We frantically tried to…
